A trade rule where the seller’s job ends when they hand goods over to the buyer’s chosen carrier at a named place, cleared for export.

Technical An Incoterm where the seller delivers goods, cleared for export, to the carrier nominated by the buyer at a named place; risk transfers at that point.

Example The parties agreed on FCA London, so the freight forwarder must collect the cartons from the supplier’s warehouse.

Etymology #

From Incoterms 2000 update, replacing FOB for containerised cargo; FCA stands for 'Free Carrier' under the ICC.
